How the Energy Score works
Rested reads last night's sleep from Apple Health or Health Connect and turns it into one number from 0 to 100: how rested you should feel today. Five things go in: how long you slept against your target, how much of your time in bed you were asleep, your share of deep sleep, your share of REM, and how close your bedtime was to your own average. Duration counts the most. Sleep debt from the last 14 nights takes a little off, up to 15 percent, and the sleep debt screen shows the penalty.
- 90 and above: Excellent. You're fully charged.
- 75 to 89: Good. Well rested and ready.
- 60 to 74: Fair. Could use more rest.
- 40 to 59: Low. Consider an early night.
- Below 40: Poor. Rest is needed.
Questions people ask
Is the Energy Score free?
Yes. The score, last night's summary, a seven-day history and the bedtime reminder are free. Rested Pro adds the daily action timeline, heart rate and HRV insights, the full factor analysis, 30-day trends and schedule tools for shift workers.
Which devices work?
Rested does not track sleep itself. It reads what your device already records: Apple Health on iPhone, from an Apple Watch, Oura Ring, Whoop or the iPhone's own sleep tracking; Health Connect on Android, from a smartwatch, fitness tracker or a compatible sleep app. Your sleep data stays on your phone and is never shared. Rested is not a medical device.
Does it work for night shifts?
Yes. Consistency is measured against your own average bedtime, not a fixed night, and Rested Pro can set the schedule around shifts.
