Website Privacy Notice

This notice covers the website laughter.app. It sets no cookies, has no forms and loads nothing from other sites except one cookieless page-view counter from Cloudflare, which is not on this page or on any privacy, terms or Impressum page. Each app has its own privacy policy, linked from that app's page.

What happens when you visit
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. When your browser requests a page, Cloudflare necessarily processes technical data: your IP address, the requested address, the time, your browser's user agent and the referring page. Cloudflare uses this to deliver the page and to protect the site against attacks. We do not combine this data with other data and do not use it to identify you.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in delivering a secure, working website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Cloudflare acts as our processor under its Data Processing Addendum. Cloudflare may process data in the United States; transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which Cloudflare is certified, and on Standard Contractual Clauses.
Page-view statistics
The home, app, support and not-found pages load Cloudflare Web Analytics, a small script from Cloudflare, Inc. It counts page views and reports them to us in aggregate: the page, the country, the referring site, the browser and device type, and page loading times. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and uses no fingerprinting; Cloudflare does not keep your IP address with the counted view, and we cannot see individual visitors. This page and every privacy, terms and Impressum page do not load it.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are read and whether the site works (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, no consent under Section 25 TDDDG is needed. Cloudflare processes this data for us under the same Data Processing Addendum and transfer safeguards as above. You can object at any time by email, or block the script with a content blocker; the site works without it.
Store and app links
Links such as laughter.app/exposed/ios send you on to the App Store or Google Play. Our server only reads your browser's user agent to pick the right store and does not store it. Apple and Google process your visit under their own privacy policies.
If you email us, we use your message and address to answer you. Our email is provided by Google Ireland Limited (Google Workspace) as our processor. We delete correspondence when it is no longer needed, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to the personal data we hold about you, and to correct, delete or restrict it, to receive it in a portable form, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. Email privacy@laughter.app. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one where you live or the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).

If this notice changes, we update this page and its date.
